1. What Duckdex is
Duckdex is a personal, free website and app that help a Picsou Magazine (and other Disney publications) collector know, before buying an issue, which share of its stories they don't already own. They're developed and hosted as a hobby, with no ads, no sales and no commercial purpose.
Duckdex is not published, endorsed or affiliated with Disney, nor with Édi-Monde, Disney Hachette Presse, Unique Heritage Media, Glénat or any other publisher named on the site.
2. Access and account
Browsing the catalog doesn't require an account. Creating one is needed to save your collection, propose corrections and compute a percentage of new content.
Duckdex doesn't use passwords: you sign in with Google, Discord, or a one-time code sent by email. You're responsible for access to the mailbox or third-party account you use to sign in.
An account represents a single person. The chosen username must stay decent: an insulting, misleading (impersonation) or advertising username can be changed or the account suspended.
3. Contributions
You can propose issues, stories and cover photos. These suggestions only appear in the catalog after manual review: nothing is published automatically.
By sending an image, you declare you're entitled to do so — typically, a photo you took yourself of your own copy. Don't send a scan taken from another site.
Submissions that are clearly false, off-topic, or repeated despite a rejection may lead to losing the right to contribute, then account suspension.
You keep your rights over what you send, and you allow Duckdex to display it on the site to illustrate the issue concerned. You can request the removal of an image you provided at any time.
4. Personal data
Duckdex keeps only what's strictly necessary: your email address, the name provided by the sign-in provider, the username you choose, the list of issues in your collection, and your contributions.
This data is neither sold, shared, nor used for advertising. There's no ad tracker or third-party analytics tool. Duckdex only stores, on your device (browser or app), the token that keeps you signed in and your theme choice — neither leaves it for any other purpose.
You can delete your account yourself at any time from Profile → Danger zone (by retyping your address to confirm): your account, collection, and contributions are erased immediately and permanently, with no retention period; the catalog is unaffected. You can also request access to your data, its correction, or its deletion, by writing to the address at the bottom of the page.
An account with no login for 1 year may be deleted automatically. A warning e-mail is sent to the registered address 2 months before the actual deletion: logging back in during that window is enough to cancel it. A second notification confirms the deletion once it's done.
5. Content and rights
The catalog of series, issues, stories and their reprints comes from Inducks and remains usable under the terms of the Inducks licence, whose attribution appears on the About page.
Reproduced covers illustrate issues for identification purposes, at small size. They remain the property of their rights holders — © Disney and the successive publishers. If you hold rights over an image shown here and want it removed, write to us: it will be taken down.
The data of your own collection belongs to you.
6. Availability and liability
Duckdex is provided as-is, with no guarantee of availability or accuracy. The catalog contains approximations: an issue may be misindexed, a story missing, a percentage of new content wrong. Double-check before a purchase that matters to you — the site is a decision aid, not an authority.
The service may be interrupted, changed or shut down at any time. In case of shutdown, a way to export your collection will be offered if circumstances allow it.
7. Changes to these terms
These terms may change along with the site. The last-updated date appears at the top of this page; continuing to use Duckdex after a change means you accept the current version.
